Interview with Katie Shorter

Katie is another middle/long distance runner who joined the team this year. Her accomplishments this season include running a 2:08.40 in the 600m run at the Section 2 League Meet 5 and a 3:52.10 in the 1000m.

Why did you decide to join the indoor track team?
I really liked cross country and I wanted to keep on running.

What accomplishments are you most proud of from the season so far?
For the season I was so proud that I beat two of my personal records in one meet.

What goals do you have for outdoor track?
My goal is to keep on setting more personal records.

What motivates you to keep working hard at practice each day?
What motivates me are my teammates when cheering me on.

What do you think the key to being a successful track runner is?
The key of being successful is to make sure you practice hard everyday.

How would you describe the team atmosphere? Was it hard joining a high school team as a seventh grader?
It was not that hard joining the high school team because I knew some of the teammates already.
