Gabby is a seventh grader on the indoor team this year who started her track career with a bang! She ran a 1:52.17 600 at the Ithaca Bomber Invitational, a 3:40.30 1000 at the Section 2 League Meet 6 and a 5:49.60 1500 at the Section 2 League Meet 4.

Why did you decide to join the indoor track team?
I joined the indoor track team because my brother, Anthony, is on the team and I thought it was a great way to stay in shape.

What accomplishments are you most proud of from the season so far?
I am most proud that I’ve made new friends, and I have improved my race times as the year has progressed.

What goals do you have for the remainder of the season.
I would like to continue to improve my times and help the team in any way I can.

What motivates you to keep working hard at practice each day?
I have been told that the hard work you do in practice will help you at meets.
I want to do my best at meets – so I work hard at practice.

What do you think the key to being a successful track runner is?
Someone who puts the team before their individual goals. Also, be a good teammate by helping other runners succeed

How would you describe the team atmosphere? Was it hard joining a high school team as a seventh grader?
It has been a wonderful experience! The upperclassmen have been extremely supportive and the coaches have been positive throughout the year. I have enjoyed the indoor season a lot!! It was very easy to join the team.
